What is the IE-ATF?

The Inland Empire Airsoft Task Force is an airsoft team put together by a group of Mil-Sim (tactical military simulation) enthusiasts. Our goal is to join in the hobby of airsoft and enjoy the simulated military experiences it affords. In our efforts to further enjoy the experience we have drafted the IE-ATF S.O.P.

I. The IE-ATF: We as a team

1-1. Dedication
In order to be placed as an integral member of the IE-ATF, dedication is of the upmost importance. All members are expected to participate in weekend skirmishes, practice events, and larger operations. IE-ATF does understand that some members' schedules are more or less flexible than others, (i.e.: employment, school, family, etc.) however, it is very important that all members attempt to appear at scheduled events as often as possible. Dedication also includes maintaining communication with team leaders and other existing IE-ATF members. The IE-ATF has established a network of communication with the use of the team forum. All members are required to join the team forum and participate in the conversations and activities occurring within. All members are also advised to join other allied group forums, not only to promote our team in hopes of development, but also to keep communication within the local airsof community. Check the website home page for a few of these links.

1-2 Knowledge
Knowledge of military uniforms, weaponry, personnel gear and affects, terminology, tactics and communication procedures is not necessary to be a member of the IE-ATF. The IE-ATF will aid all new members in the education of all areas stated above as it pertains to airsoft and the IE-ATF. However, all IE-ATF members are encouraged to take it upon themselves to study aspects of military life, weaponry, tactics, as well as camouflaging techniques on their own, in addition to sharing all gathered information with the team in order to allow the team to develop and be successful.

1-3 Experience
Experience with mil-sim is NOT a requirement for a member looking to join the IE-ATF. However, prior experience (mil-sim, paintball, or actual service0 is ideal. The IE-ATF team leaders have spent many hours studying various military techniques and procedures, as pertaining to airsoft, and will aid new members with becoming familiarized with aspects of the military that are essential for new team members to succeed and become a contributing member of the IE-ATF

II. Rank and Responsibilities

2-1 Ranks
The IE-ATF is organized with ranks ranging from: Recruit, Specialist, Corporal, Sergeant (Staff, 1st Class and Master as needed), and Lieutenant (1st and 2nd Class as needed), lowest to highest respectively. IE-ATF contains the Lieutenant acting as squad leader with team leaders assigned the rank of Sergeant and assistant team leaders assigned the rank of Corporal. The IE-ATF is organized in units of four-man fire teams working in two two-man teams. As the IE-ATF develops, there will be more four-man fire teams added until the IE-ATF has enough members to work as a full sized squad (three four-man fire teams). Ranking will be assigned based on overall commitment and active participation in all aspects concerning the IE-ATF team.

2-2 Responsibility
IE-ATF team leaders may choose to assign team members with off-field responsibilities. These assignments are not so much mandatory as they are to allow members to assume the role of a contributing member of the team. IE-ATF team leaders acknowledge the fact that personal responsibilities may at times get in the way of completing such assignments, however, such assignments affect a members overall level of participation. Assignments not fulfilled may be viewed as a lack of dedication and my ultimately affect the possibility of promotion.

III. Equipment and Uniform Requirements

3-1 Personal Uniform
In order to maintain cohesion, uniformity, flexibility and enjoyable team experience, the IE-ATF has requirements in regards to your personal equipment.
Uniforms requirements are for skirmishes and operations. Members are permitted to wear clothing of choice to practice events.

1. Top/Blouse in Woodland Camouflage or Green: May include BDU's (battle dress uniform), T-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, jackets and the like so long as they are in a shade of military green (i.e.: olive drab, forest green, etc). Green camouflage prints are encouraged so long as they are of the following types: Woodland BDU (aka: 3-color green/brown/black standard camouflage) or Woodland MARPAT (digital woodland).
MARPAT should eventually be purchased as it is the official IE-ATF uniform top.

2. Bottom/Trouser in Desert Camouflage or Brown: This includes all styles of trouser (BDU, cargo, dickies, etc.) except dress pants (slack, etc.) and denim (Levis, etc.). The color should be in a shade of military brown (i.e.: forest, tan, khaki, desert, etc.). Camouflage prints are encouraged so long as they are of the following types: 3-color or 6-color (chocolate chip) desert or desert MARPAT.
Desert MARPAT should eventually be purchased as it is the official IE-ATF uniform trouser.

***It is noted that operators should obtain Digital MARPAT Desert and Woodland BDU blouse and trouser. This is what we'll move toward as cohesion increases. This will give us flexibilty to play Green or Tan teams in local Operations as well as wear our official uniform whenever possible.

3-2 Equipment
LBV's (load bearing vests), plate carriers, chest rigs, etc. are loosely regulated since personal comfort during skirmishes and operations is paramount. IE-ATF strongly recommends utilizing 'open top' magazine pouches and camelback hydration pouches. Color is also loosely regulated so long as the color is one of the following: olive drab, desert tan, black, woodland or MARPAT.

Other Equipment Recommendations:
Magazine 'dump' pouch
Camelback/Hydration System (Hydration is absolutely essential for safety)
Tan Boots (these are current standard military issue0
'Boonie' hat or other form of head gear
Gloves
Knee and Elbow Pads
Pouch for carrying spare BB's and loader
Rifle Bag (its importance in public cannot be stressed enough!!!)

Proper Eye Protection is a must! Don't even step on the field without.

IV Weapon Requirements

4-1 Weaponry and Related Materials
Individual weaponry is loosely regulated so long as the weapon utilized M4/M16 magazines. The only exception is for SAW gunners and snipers. This is to ensure ammunition cohesion. If a team member should run low on magazine, any team member can aid by giving the team member a spare magazine or two.
M4/M16 and their variants are easily obtainable; however, other weapons platforms utilizing M4/M16 magazines exist.
Pistols/Side Arms are by no means mandatory, but encourages.
BB weights are not regulated unless the team is enrolled in an operation where such is enforced.
FPS (feet per second muzzle velocity) of your weapon is not enforced unless the team is enrolled in an operation where such is enforced. It is, however, strongly encouraged that weapons do not exceed 420 fps.

Other Weaponry Recommendations:
Spare battery
RIS/RAS rail system (for rifle attachments and /or flexibility)
Mid-Cap or Low-Cap magazines (high capacity magazines are typically for SAW Gunners only!)
Again, Rifle Bag!!
